Hi-yo.
It's Neejinie the Power Blog Girl
Already.. The seasons have passed and winter-winter is here
Honestly do not want to get out from under my covers for that reason
My neighbor-nims, are you dressing warmly?
If you catch a cold..
Nonononono~~~~
(In the Sweet Girls tone)
The thing I will be reviewing today is..!
These days, Today's. Workout. Finished
No
T.R.F
Today's reading finished~^^
has been trending quite a bit on social media, right?
So. I have prepared
An introduction to three places
where you can enjoy books and whiskey together~
Let us head over without further ado
1. Chaeg Bar
Rumor had it that the owner-nim was handsome at this place..
So my heart was racing pit-a-pat-a-pit-a-pat-a-pit-a-pat before I even opened the door
["I wandered for 20 years searching for you"]
To. Chaeg Bar's owner-nim
As soon as I entered, the space was lined with
almost a library-like quantity of books as well as whiskeys
Books and whiskey.. This was my first time too, so I was very excited
I am quite the distant person from books, so hegh
But still I am the Power Blog Girl so...!!!!!
A photo with the books-♡
As for this whiskey bar.
The owner-nim is a voracious reader who loves books.
So they sold whiskeys on the menu that go along with book titles!!!
The first drink I ordered was
'Call Me by Your Name'
!!!!!!!!!!!!
(To be honest I didn't know this was a book because I only saw the movie)
While I've only seen the movie for Call Me by Your Name,
I did feel like that the color blue suited that movie well
And what do you know!!
This sensibly bluish-colored whiskey!!!!
And also
They flavor it using peaches, which is key to the plot of Call Me by Your Name
This one is worth an attempt even for people who are not good with alcohol
Peach yogurt flavor?!
The second drink I ordered was
The book by author Han Kang-nim who's been a hot topic for her recent Nobel Prize for Literature
'The Vegetarian'!!!
The color was kind of greenish, just like you'd expect from the word vegetarian !
It mixes a lot of herb-based whiskeys
This drink contains absinthe
What is absinthe, you ask..?
It's a thing..
You don't need to know...
Tastes like tire.. Sigh
The important thing is I tried The Vegetarian whiskey ♡
Haha goodbye
Third, I ordered this whiskey called 'The Moon and Sixpence',
but why did I t;aeeke this photo next to The Vegetarian book?
I don't know but I wasn't drunk. ㅋ
Anyway!
I've never read this book, but personally
I used to love the song "The Moon and Sixpence" by Lucia sunbaenim when I was a trainee
So I ordered it!
This drink is grapefruit-based and quite sweet and tasty
But I don't know what the book is about so..ㅋ I don't know if it suits that well
Since the owner-nim is a book-lover
Maybe people who have read it would go, Ohhhh!!
This is truly The Moon and Sixpence!! Maybe.
I need to read more books.. Hegh
Lastly, I ordered this whiskey called 'Proof of Gu'.
This wasn't a cocktail on their menu,
but it's a book that made the biggest impression on me lately when I read it, so I made a special request
If you've read Proof of Gu you would know but..
It goes quite well with a blood-red color.. It's that kind of book ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
I can't spoil what it's about~
Since some people probably want to read it.
It's kind of an intense(?) topic this book has
So the taste of this whiskey was quite intense too.
Because it contains absinthe.
I'm an absinthe hater girl, go away!!!
But still he made it especially for me, so I really enjoyed it!
By the way everyone, this place has this kind-of magical spot you know?
This, now this is the killing part.
Here's an ordinary-looking bookcase
It's got this hidden button;;;
Insanity
Once you press this button
??????????
The bookcase slides open???
There is space behind the pillar(?) [T/N: from an old Internet meme]
Holy moly guacamole
A secret space unfolds
You can enjoy reading in this private space too
I think this space is great for enjoying when!
you come with multiple friends (and it's actually cheaper)
But why do I feel like I would only drink in here
I think being able to enjoy books in diverse spaces was a nice thing about Chaeg Bar ♡
The owner-nim was delicious and the whiskey was kind ^_^
The second place I'll be showing you is
2 . Dada Lab
This is called Dada Lab!
The owner-nim here knows what's hip too ㅋ
All kinds of hip photos hanging on the walls
and a very large variety of whiskey
This place has a charm that's distinct from the first place I described
And that is
How they improvise a cocktail on the spot when you give them a list of keywords!
What I requested was a line from the song
'How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love - AkMu'
which the Nobel Laureate Han Kang-nim
was said to be very inspired by!
["Note: jasmine qing tea, rosemary, silver tequila, lavender, dry gin, etc."]
["How could I, how for you / Until our love as deep / as the ocean all dries up / Parting would be to wait until then"]
Insane isn't it.. Sigh..
After you hand them the keywords, they write back kindly with the ingredients used
The visuals looking like a deep ocean...! Sob
I feel the heartbreak of love
It was tasty too!
It wasn't the kind of taste I really love personally, (it was a little sweeet)
but I still feel like crafting whiskey on the spot is really amazing.
Has the feel of artistry too.
["If you see five people, there's always at least one piece of garbage."]
["Five-flavor berry, ink, Ardbeg, etc. Wine base"]
The second whiskey I ordered ㅋ
Is a memorable line from the anime Naruto which I like ㅋ
"If you see five people, there's always at least one piece of garbage."
Giggle
Honestly I wanted to write 'rasengan' or 'shadow clone technique'
but I felt like that would be difficult for owner-nim so I changed tack ㅋ
So which one of us is the garbage ㅋ
Owner-nim suddenly gave me this surprise gift
Made me this whiskey that goes with "Butterfly Effect", an ARTMS song ♡
I'm a woman who gets emotional at these things.. ♡
It had the prettiest visual among the three whiskeys so I couldn't help but fall for it
I asked owner-nim, if the readers of this blog were to come here and ask
Hi there~ Gimme a glass of that ARTMS cocktail~
then would they make them for you
And they said yes ㅎㅁㅎ
actually I'm not certain kek
You know, the standard snack they give you here is Kkoidori?
I love old-school snacks so much ♡
They also sell s'more cookies as snacks too
But this place doesn't sell many things on the snack menu
So if you visit, I do recommend eating a meal beforehand!!
?
?
H u h?
You're asking if I haven't forgotten something?
Right~~ ㅎ (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵)
Today's theme was books & whiskey~~
I haven't talked about the book part~~
Come along, come along~
They have this separate second-floor space
I guess it's more like a split level than second floor!
When I went up, there were many people reading in this cozy space
It kind of felt like reading in an attic
It's the coziest~ comfiest~ feeling spot
among the three I'm showing you today!
The last place I'll tell you about is
3. Literature Salon Chogo
This one is located underground
Don't lose me and follow along ~
No but this one has such a pretty entrance
Kind of feels like going to an exhibit
Think would it be quite nice if people who are starting to get into each other came together
It was full of that kind of atmosphere (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵)
As a space where you can enjoy books and whiskey together
This place also had many kinds of books!
While the first spot Chaeg Bar felt like a library for reading
This spot, Literature Salon Chogo, felt like a bookstore
Good-vibe bookstore
No but here's what's really strong about this place.
The menu is so huge.
If you didn't eat before coming, it's heckin possible to eat a meal here
This was a whiskey bar where they turn poetry anthologies into whiskey expressions!
But forget the anthologies, I'm hungry so let's order food;
Haaa but
wasn't this supposed to be a whiskey bar?
Why is the food so good;;
Making me Giyoung-ie again
Mushroom maniacs out there please try the butter grilled mushrooms please!!!!!!!!!!
Literally paradise as soon as you take a bite
Okay let's pull myself together
I gotta review the whiskey;
Yes of course I did order whiskey too
For my first one
I ordered the whiskey associated with the poetry anthology 'We Love Atmosphere'
Just like its name, the whiskey seems to have moody atmosphere.
With sweet visuals and taste
It felt like I'd fall in love, just like the title
Neejinie loves Ourii♡
Second, I ordered this whiskey called 'Catcalling'
This one feels like the alcohol afficionados would really love it
You can taste the whiskey quite clearly,
and the right amount of sweetness for quite nice balance
Also that candied cherry on top was tasty!
Personally do not recommend the cherries on top of the We Love Atmosphere ♡
The last whiskey I ordered was called
'My Woman's Fruit'
This whiskey had the strongest dryness out of the three
Oh wait maybe they said this was gin and not whiskey..
What was it again.
It's not that I was drunk, that's not why I can't remember;
Selfies with these whiskeys that also have pretty visuals ♡
Ahhghhg I'm getintg drnnk
They had a mirror, so took some mirror selfies with my PowerBlogGirl team ♡
Heheht
In conclusion, at Literature Salon Chogo I felt like this was a space where
you could catch all three of food, whiskey and books, so it was really nice!
With that
I've recommended three places to you today!
How did you like Today's PowerBlogGirl review??
I like whiskey so
This set of reviews was very interesting for me ㅎㅎ
Uheheheghh
I need to; sleep noww yikes the alcohol on my breath
I wanted to take after Han Kang author-nim and instead ended up drinking like the Han River, drunken me...
(The next day)
["How much did I drink yesterday"]
You'll come watch on YouTube too right!!!
